Explore our interview tips to understand how to prepare and what to expect during the interview process. These guidelines will help ensure we're a great fit for each other and that we find the role that best aligns with your skills and aspirations.
Before the Interview
- We hope you're genuinely interested in both the field and our company. The most successful candidates often do some research on Aureviums or, at the very least, the industry.
- We value data, but personal stories make an impact. Be ready to share examples of how you've made a difference in your previous work. If you're a PhD student or recent graduate, be prepared to explain your research and publications in a way that anyone, even outside your field, can understand.
- If you have any connections at Aureviums or within the industry who can vouch for your work, have them reach out to our recruiting team before your interview.
- Make sure we have your latest resume (feel free to send us the most recent version to double-check), and be upfront about any missing sections or gaps in your experience.
- You'll have plenty of chances to ask us about Aureviums and the opportunities available. We encourage you to come prepared with questions.
- We don't require formal attire, so feel free to dress in a way that makes you feel comfortable. We've seen all kinds of outfits.
During the Interview
- Our interviews are designed to be a two-way conversation, not an interrogation. We view this as an opportunity to build a long-term relationship, and we hope you do too.
- It's perfectly fine to admit when you don't know something. If there's unfamiliar terminology, you can say, "I'm familiar with the concept but not that specific term." Don't feel the need to exaggerate your knowledge in any area.
- We might ask questions that challenge the limits of your knowledge. If you're unsure about something, feel free to ask for clarification. Be honest about what you know and what you want to learn.
- We value authenticity. We're not here to oversell you on the role, and we don't expect you to give answers you think we want to hear. The more thorough and honest your responses, the better we can match you to the right role.
- Don't hesitate to write down your thoughts on a piece of paper or use a whiteboard if it helps make your answer clearer.
- Be prepared to articulate your criteria for choosing a job. Knowing what's important to you will help us determine the best role for your skills and preferences.
- We'd love to get to know you as a person, not just an employee. Do you have hobbies or passions outside of work-whether it's poker, poetry, sports, or volunteer work? Feel free to share any aspects of your life that matter to you.
- You may speak with several team members and get asked similar questions more than once. We appreciate your patience in this process.
- Expect some tough mental challenges, games, or hypothetical scenarios. Many of our questions don't have a "right" answer. What we're really interested in is how you think.
- We may ask you to work on a task during the interview to get a sense of how we'd collaborate. During this time, treat us as you would your current colleagues.
- Your time is valuable, and so is ours. If you feel that the conversation isn't leading to a promising fit, don't hesitate to let us know during the interview.
After the Interview
- Feel free to follow up with us after the interview. If there's something you didn't have a chance to mention, we welcome your note.
