NLP Engineer – Ecliptic Data Team
The Ecliptic Data Team is seeking a highly motivated NLP Engineer with expertise in deep learning frameworks. This role is ideal for candidates eager to expand their skills in the financial industry while developing cutting-edge models to process large-scale unstructured datasets.
Responsibilities
As an NLP Engineer, you will:
- Develop state-of-the-art deep learning models to process and extract insights from large-scale unstructured datasets.
- Engage with data vendors to understand dataset characteristics and evaluate their relevance.
- Analyze datasets, generate descriptive statistics, and identify potential applications.
- Conduct preliminary research and evaluations for presentation to Portfolio Managers.
- Explore and implement new technologies for efficient data management and retrieval.
Requirements
- PhD or Master’s degree in computer science, data science, statistics, or a related quantitative discipline. *(A bachelor’s degree with extensive relevant work experience will also be considered.)*
- 3+ years of experience in NLP, computer vision, speech processing, or a related field.
- Extensive experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.
- Strong understanding of modern language model architectures, with hands-on experience in model implementation and training.
- Proficient coding skills in Python and SQL programming experience.
- Experience working with large datasets and optimizing data pipelines.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a high-performing team.
- Financial industry experience is preferred but not required.
- Candidates with publications in top machine learning conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, ACL, EMNLP, NAACL) are highly preferred.

Compensation & Benefits
- Annual base salary: $150,000–$200,000 (USD) *(excluding discretionary bonuses and benefits)*
